In the face of intense scrutiny, President Obama stood by his controversial use of the “N-word” while discussing racism in an interview aired on Monday.
White House press secretary Josh Earnest was asked if Obama had any regrets over his use of the racial epithet.
“He does not,” Earnest said. “The president’s use of the word and the reason he used the word could not be more apparent.”

Earnest said Obama is “not surprised” by the strong reaction to his decision, and is “eager for people to have a good sense of the argument that he’s trying to make.”
The “Fox & Friends” crew had a discussion about whether it’s appropriate for the president to use the “N-word,” or if it’s beneath the dignity of his office.
Guest Bret Baier, host of Fox News’ “Special Report” said the president “will raise some eyebrows,” but added that Obama has the “prerogative” to “say those things when talking about racism from his personal knowledge and has a unique perspective, obviously, as the first African-American president.”

But Fox News contributor Deneen Borelli was much more critical in an appearance on “America’s Newsroom,” saying Obama “has really dragged in the gutter-speak of rap music.”
“So now he’s the first president of rap, of street?” she asked.
“The president-in-chief, the rapper-in-chief now, is further dividing our country,” Borelli told host Bill Hemmer. “I find it outrageous.”
She said Obama has “lowered the stature of the high office of the president of the United States,” and pointed to the inspirational “unity march” in honor of the nine African-Americans killed last week while attending Bible study.
“Did you see all of the people coming together in the streets of Charleston, South Carolina? Borelli asked. “Black, white, and otherwise, coming together, praying, supporting each other. And here you have the president make this insane, crazy comment of using the N-word to distract.”
