If there’s one thing we can count on former first lady Barbara Bush for, it’s her candor.
A new Jeb Bush campaign video released Friday takes us behind the scenes of his launch in Miami Monday, and includes a conversation with his mother.
“The best news of the day was that my mom finally said I was her favorite,” the former Florida governor, said.
“Oh, no I didn’t,” she replied. “You mean of all of the children?”
“Yeah,” Bush said.
“No,” she quipped.
Two years ago, NBC’s Matt Lauer interviewed some of the Bush women for a “Today” show segment.
He eventually got around to asking whether Jeb should run for president. She thought not.
“We’ve had enough Bushes,” she said.
Social media loved it, and loved the former first lady for it.
@thehill I can imagine Jeb saying this “Mom you’re going to a home”
