Atheists won’t believe this guy.
The Freedom From Religion Foundation, an atheist group that uses the threat of costly legal action to bully targets into conforming to its secular demands, may find a Florida sheriff a tougher egg to crack than the weak-kneed municipalities and school districts it’s accustomed to pushing around.
The “perpetually offended atheists from Wisconsin,” as Fox News’ Todd Starnes calls the organization, is threatening to sue Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd if he doesn’t agree to stop preaching at churches while in his uniform and using his official title, WFLA reported.
Judd speaks to about 15 to 20 churches a year, according to WFLA, talking about how faith-based practices have changed lives for the better.
“We don’t have any problem with him preaching in church and we don’t have any problem with him teaching Sunday school,” said FFRF attorney Andrew Seidel.
“He’s free to do that. What’s he’s not allowed to do is use the public government office and title and uniform to promote his personal religion.”
But Judd has no intentions of going quietly into the night.

“Let me say this clearly and unequivocally, when people call the sheriff’s office and ask me to come speak, I’m gonna come speak and I’m gonna wear my uniform — you can guarantee it,” Judd said.
Amen!
Judd is not one to mince his words, based on what he once told a reporter who questioned why his deputies fired 110 rounds at a man suspected of killing one of his officers, hitting him 68 times.
“I suspect the only reason 110 rounds was all that was fired was that’s all the ammunition they had,” he said. “We were not going to take any chance of him shooting back.”
As Ronald Reagan once said about those who say there are no heroes, they just don’t know where to look.
