CNN insults law enforcement AGAIN; corrections officer fights back

A former corrections officer blew up at CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin Monday after Toobin claimed poorly trained prison guards are particularly vulnerable to being manipulated by inmates looking for a break.

Toobin was part of a discussion regarding the recent New York prison break, involving escapees Richard Matt and David Sweat, on “Anderson Cooper 360” when he made the disparaging comments.

Former corrections officer Anthony Gangi  didn’t pull any punches when it was his turn to speak.

“Correction officers are often very poorly paid, and they are not very well trained, so you have people who are vulnerable to start with,” Toobin said.

Gangi hit back at Toobin, saying that “anyone can be manipulated.”

“It’s not that we’re vulnerable, it has nothing to do with us getting paid less, has nothing to do with any of that,” he said.

“First of all, we’re professionals, and second thing is we have a job to do,” he added.

Gangi slammed Toobin “belittling” a profession that is “in the shadows.”

“It’s insulting… and when you say something like that — for people who’ve been in the shadows so long — we get frustrated!”

Toobin better hope he’s not behind bars anytime soon.
