Giuliani to Obama: How ’bout you carry a poster saying ‘hate police’

Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is coming out strong in defense of law enforcement with a message he says Obama should be telling America’s youth: respect authority.

Giuliani sat down with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly on Thursday night to discuss the growing tension surrounding law enforcement. Giuliani said the toxic attitude starts from the top down.

“So, you believe the president should be speaking out?” O’Reilly asked.

“The president of the United States should say to all children, black, white, all children, here’s the rule kids… When a cop tells you to go, you go.

“You say ‘Yes, sir, no, sir.’”

The two were discussing a recent incident in McKinney, Texas where former police Cpl., Eric Casebolt became volatile when several teenagers disobeyed his orders after he was called to a pool party.

Giuliani didn’t say that he necessarily believes Obama has a problem with respecting authority, but that he does seem to have a grudge – or something – against cops.

“When you have Al Sharpton sitting next to you, which is like… how ‘bout you carry a poster saying, ‘hate police,’” he said.

Giuliani specifically called out the president for not going out of his way to publicly acknowledge the assassination of NYPD officers Wenjian Liu and Rafael Ramos in December.

“He doesn’t go out of his way to give that as much attention,” Giuliani said.

Giuliani was a big supporter of New York law enforcement when he was mayor, and it showed. He touted his impressive record, saying crime was down 59 percent and murder down 65 percent while he was in office.

Giuliani reiterated that you just “don’t disrespect a police officer” and reminded listeners, “He’s putting his life at risk for you.  You owe him respect.”
