Bold Fla. politician demonstrates EXACTLY how to stand up to PC police

A local official in Florida angered the overly sensitive, politically correct crowd when he went on Facebook with a satirical announcement that he had made the “difficult” decision to remain a guy.

Poking fun at the excitement over the “bravery” of the transgender movement, Pembroke Pines City Commissioner Angelo Castillo posted a satire laden announcement in early June about his decision to defy “conventional wisdom” and continue to identify as a man.

“Staying a guy is not an easy choice to make but in reaching this difficult decision I hope all of you will understand that I really think this is the best choice I can make for me,” Castillo wrote. He included “Satire added, no extra charge” at the end of his post.

Biting comedy isn’t always well received in a world where political correctness has a tendency to censor attempts at humor. Castillo’s Facebook page was soon exploding with outraged social media users who found his announcement degrading toward the transgender community despite its obvious attempt to be lighthearted.

“I’ve got a great sense of humor, but the best comics will tell you, ‘Always punch up at the privileged,’” one user wrote. “Punching someone being held down, that’s not humor — that’s just meanness. Be better than this post.”

Castillo tried to curtail some of the anger by reminding people that it’s just comedy.

“It’s called sarcasm, and often it’s the only way to drive home a point to those who just can’t understand otherwise,” he said of his post.

“Was the post funny? Obviously it was to some, but not to me,” wrote another politically correct critic. “I love sarcasm. I use it all the time & recognize it very clearly. What I don’t like is laughter & sarcasm at the expense of others.”

It’s unclear what kind of sarcasm is left if poking fun at other people is off the table.

However, it doesn’t seem Castillo is about to abandon his sense of humor. Defiantly telling his critics to “defriend” him if they don’t like his satirical take on things, he told one user “Anybody that doesn’t like me doing that they can go f— themselves. Is that clear enough?”

The city official clearly isn’t dissuaded by the outrage on his Facebook page.

Overly sensitive social media users should try to have a little more tolerance. After all, Castillo announced a brave life decision regarding how he wants to self-identify.
