Obama accused of ‘throwing Pentagon under bus’ because ‘he believes in noise, not performance’

With Islamic State militants continuing to wreak havoc across the Middle East, slaughtering Christians wherever they find them, a former top official in the first Bush White House countered President Obama’s claim that the United States has no strategy in place to stop them.

And he accused Obama of throwing the Pentagon under the bus.”

Joining Fox News host Greta Van Susteren on the set of “On The Record” Tuesday, John Sununu — chief of staff to George H.W. Bush from 1989 to 1991, as well as a former New Hampshire governor  — said Obama is trying to make it look as if he hasn’t been sent any plans to defeat ISIS.

“He has received … from the folks at the Pentagon many strategies and he has rejected them,” he said.

“This is a president that thinks that his beautiful rhetoric can overcome the mistakes he makes by bad actions or inactions,” Sununu added. “He believes in noise, not performance.”

Sununu said the threat posed by ISIS isn’t going to go away.

“This president’s unwilling to accept the responsibility America has as the only superpower in the world to help stabilize things,” he said.
