Marco Rubio‘s presidential run is giving a veteran who gave his legs for his country a chance to make a run of his own — for Congress.
Brian Mast, an Army Special Operations combat veteran who lost his legs to a Taliban bomb in Afghanistan, spoke to “Fox and Friends” Tuesday and explained why he wants the Republican nomination in Florida’s 18th Congressional District.
“When I think about serving in Congress, it’s for one very specific reason,” Mast told Elisabeth Hasselbeck.
Entire police dept. disbanded after councilwoman and her son were arrested.
”I learned in combat and serving alongside great soldiers to my left and right that there’s only one way to serve this country. And that’s without regard for the personal consequence or without regard for person gain.
“I want to go to D.C. and inspire that in everyone that’s up there, because that’s what my brothers do on the battlefield,” he added.
The seat Mast is running for is being vacated by Rep. Patrick Murphy, who is running for 2016 Republican presidential hopeful Marco Rubio’s vacated Senate seat.
