Bad news for Dems: Guess who supports voter ID laws?

Someone stop the presses!

Evidence has just come in that a majority of Americans – despite being constantly patronized and ignored by media elites – actually welcome voter ID laws.

How much so? Rasmussen Reports found that a whopping 76 percent of likely voters support voter ID laws.

If this information is allowed to take hold it could lead to bad news for Democrats in the form of honest elections.

As informed citizens know, the media has long been trashing the concept of having a federal voter ID law as being unfair to blacks, unfair to the poor, unfair to Mexicans, unfair to dead people, oh wait, dead people can’t vote. (Wink. Wink.)

And every time the mere mention of a voter ID law comes out, large news networks go into propaganda-overdrive to squash it.

Remember when MSNBC’s Chris Matthews spoke with then-Sen. Hagan about the issue? That’s OK, nobody else remembers either, because no one watches “Hardball.”

If they had, they would have heard Matthews spewing, “Why are [Republicans] trying to screw the black voter, to put it bluntly? Is it because they don’t like blacks or because they don’t like Democrats?”

Matthew’s lamentations are just the tip of the ice-berg when it comes to the media montage of anti-voter ID indoctrination that hasn’t taken hold.

Because at the end of the day, Americans have too much common sense for that nonsense.

According to the Rasmussen poll that says nearly 8 of 10 people welcome voter ID, Republican lawmakers may want to stop being scared of being called racists simply for believing all people should have to prove they’re a citizen before casting their hard-fought-for ballot.

Wisconsin’s Republican Gov. Scott Walker, survived implementing a strict photo voter ID law in 2011 despite numerous court battles and racist allegations stacked against him.

Not only has Walker survived, he often leads in other telling polls that puts him at the top of GOP presidential candidates for 2016. And Walker hasn’t even announced he’ll be running.

Those in favor of commonsense voter ID laws – and there are many – can only hope that he does.

So who supports voter ID laws?

Just about everybody.
