Vet nails ‘stolen valor’ scammer claiming THREE Purple Hearts

It is a scene that has become all too familiar — but this guy was over the top!

Fox News reported a story Monday of a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom catching a man masquerading as a veteran at a Nebraska truck stop recently and letting him have it.

According to Fox, the charlatan told people at the store that he just returned from overseas and had received three Purple Hearts. (Purple Hearts are awarded to those wounded or killed in the service. It’s not a claim to be made lightly.)

The real veteran watched as civilians walked up to the man thanking him for his service and at least one person handing him money before he lost his temper and confronted the man.

The video, which was uploaded to YouTube on May 14 by the group Guardian of Valor, showed the veteran telling the phony that his uniform wasn’t right and his name tag was missing.

The veteran confronted the man with a barrage of questions he couldn’t answer properly, and a cascade of deserved insults.

The Guardian of Valor website wrote that it knows who the man is and that this isn’t the first time he’s pulled this scam.

Guess that’s easier than actually serving.
