The personal Twitter account of Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby apparently “favored” tweets posted to social media that labeled as “thugs” the six Baltimore police officers her office is prosecuting in the death of Freddie Gray.
But her office now claims her account had been hacked.
Mosby gained national fame May 1 when she charged the six on 26 counts related to the death of Gray, who died April 19 of spinal chord injuries he suffered after being arrested April 12.
After rioting convulsed the city, Mosby said the looters, rioters and arsonists should not be labeled “thugs.” However, her favoring of a tweet from the account of “3ChicsPolitico” would suggest that she has no reservation referring to the six police officers she charged with that moniker, according to The Daily Caller.
That same day, Mosby — or someone who hacked her account — favored another questionable post on Twitter, this one from Amy Alexander, and having racial overtones.
On Wednesday, Mosby’s staff claimed her Twitter accounts had been taken over by an outside party.
“Both Mosby’s official Twitter account and her personal account were hacked,” the prosecutor’s office told Fox News host Megyn Kelly.
“We do not know how long it’s been going on, we are working with Twitter,” Mosby’s team claimed.
Mosby also tweeted:
My BCSAO Account had been hacked! #SuchIsLife

Although she had plenty of supporters, some responses indicated people weren’t necessarily buying the “hacker” story.

Here’s Kelly discussing Mosby’s claims with “The Five” co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Given Mosby’s previous words and actions, they don’t seem to buy the “hack” excuse either.
