Where was The Associated Press when mob boss John Gotti needed them?
The news agency reported on Tuesday that Bill and Hillary Clinton set up a shell or “pass-through” company called WJC, LLC, under the innocuous-sounding headline, “Bill Clinton company shows complexity of family finances.”
(The president’s full name is William Jefferson Clinton, which explains the initials.)

The company allegedly funneled payments to the former president, but because it has no financial assets, Hillary Clinton’s campaign was not obligated to report its existence in recent financial disclosure reports.
But one man’s “complexity of family finances” is another man’s organized crime syndicate, according to social media user @RBPundit.
The generous AP headline and @RBPundit’s keen observation resulted in a double barrel of snark from social media users. Here’s a sampling from Twitter:
