Scott Walker suggests he may skip Florida primary to let Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio destroy each other – Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) suggested Tuesday that, if he decides to run for president, his campaign would sit out the Florida Republican presidential primary and let the Sunshine State’s two native sons – Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio – duke it out in the expensive political market. “If we get in as a candidate, we’re going to make a strong play in Iowa,” Walker said in an interview with radio host Laura Ingraham. Seeking budget breakthrough, Florida Senate offers to change its health plan – Hoping to break the Legislature’s worst budget stalemate in two decades, the Senate tweaked its Medicaid expansion plan Tuesday in the face of continued opposition from the House and Gov. Rick Scott. It didn’t work. The House offered a cautiously optimistic response, but Scott stepped up his criticism of what he called the Senate’s “Obamacare Expansion Plan” and accused his fellow Republicans of trying to impose higher taxes on Floridians. Conservative Club for Growth praises Alan Grayson in new ad – The conservative Club for Growth, which has backed Republican U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis in Florida’s 2016 U.S. Senate race, plans to debut a TV ad Wednesday praising Rep. Alan Grayson of Orlando, a liberal firebrand. The spot is purportedly about the Export-Import Bank, which Club for Growth opposes. So does Grayson. But the ad’s real goal is to go after Rep. Patrick Murphy of Jupiter, the top Democrat who has declared his Senate candidacy. Read more
