There’s a reason Hollywood’s beautiful people depend on writers.
Without a screen, the world can see how stupidly ugly they really are.
Proving once again that actors who mouth other people’s words for a living ought to stay away from broadcasting their own, TV and movie actress Rose McGowan blundered into a Twitter trap Sunday when she retweeted a phony “quote” from Ted Cruz apparently defending reality TV star and confessed child molester Josh Dugger.
And added her own insipid commentary.
You are blight on the soul of humanity. Get off of my planet. #TedCruz #fuckwits #rapists #criminals pic.twitter.com/lC8xtYVBYS

The problem for the empty-headed McGowan, of course, is that Cruz never said any such thing. As the myth debunking Snopes.com points out, the Facebook group the alleged quote came from is “Stop The World, The Teabaggers Want Off.”
It’s an openly farcical operation that usually targets conservative politicians. Its “about” box contains a hard-to-miss disclaimer that it’s “for Entertainment purposes only.”
The “about” tab is even more explicit in saying “is NOT meant to be taken seriously.”“It is primarily satire and parody with a mix of political memes and messages,” it states.
That’s clear enough, assuming readers understand what the words “satire” and “parody” mean. If they don’t, they respond like McGowan – or this idiot follower.
@rosemcgowan He SAID that? Jesus effing Christ… — Mouth of Sauron (@simon_lindsell) May 24, 2015
Leaving aside the nature of the source, it really should have occurred even to someone in McGowan’s line of work that if a top-tier presidential candidate of either party had made a statement supporting a child molester and criticizing gays, the story would have been more widespread than one blast in a newsfeed.
It might even have occurred to McGowan – or “Mouth of Sauron” – to use that esoteric thing called “Google” to see if Sen. Cruz were really so politically suicidal.
Once the error of her tweet was pointed out, McGowan issued an unapologetic correction that just show what a truly beastly human spirit can fester inside an otherwise appealing physique.
I’m sorry I said #TedCruz liked child molesters. Ok? No go back to hating gays. Fuckwits. — rose mcgowan (@rosemcgowan) May 25, 2015
And that just made it worse. The senator’s defenders — and there are many of them — were quick to call out that spiteful filth for what it was.
@rosemcgowan – Go back to making crappy movies and spreading lies, d-lister. — 82Brew (@rodgers_jeff) May 25, 2015
If you call someone out on libel, that means you hate gays? https://t.co/zaVrQKGey0

@rosemcgowan your awesome, republicans really don’t handle criticism well do they — Amanda Jade (@princessgleek) May 25, 2015
Republicans have practice dealing with the real world.
Foul-mouthed airheads never have to.
