Baltimore riot story you’re not supposed to see: Protesters ‘took everything’ from my disabled child

While protesters insist black lives matter, it doesn’t appear that all black lives are treated equally — at least not in Baltimore.

After her home was engulfed in flames during last month’s riots, Laporsha Lawson and her severely disabled son, Khai’Lee Sampson, lost everything, and it’s a story the mainstream media and liberals may not want you to see.

And everything includes the 7-year-old’s customized wheelchair, a back brace that helps him sit upright and a machine that supplies oxygen to his lungs when he stops breathing at night, The Baltimore Sun reported.

Khai’Lee, who developed cerebral palsy after a severe asthma attack, also lost the supplies for his feeding tube … and a new swing.

“They took everything from my child,” Lawson said of the rioters that night.

Lawson told The Sun that she understands the anger over the death of Freddie Gray, which spurred the unrest, but doesn’t understand why protesters destroy their own community.

But she can’t help but feel betrayed.

“Everybody wants justice for Freddie Gray,” she said. “But what about justice for Khai’Lee?”

Her home was next to a liquor store that authorities believe arsonists had targeted, according to The Sun. The store was completely demolished, and her home has been condemned.

With nowhere else to go, Lawson now lives in cramped quarters with her parents.

“I couldn’t do nothing but hold her,” her mother, Gloria Dukes, said when her child showed up at her door the night of the riots. “I told her it was a test — ‘God is testing you to see how strong you’re going to be.'”

A fundraiser has been set up to help Lawson and her son, and has brought in more than $21,000.

While insurance is expected to cover some of the medical equipment lost, Lawson said it will cost more than what has been collected to replace it all.
