As fury continues to grow over a grossly offensive Twitter posting it put out on Friday, the lefty “news” outlet MSNBC might be finally learning something most people learn during childhood:
Just saying “sorry” doesn’t change anything.
The story started when some progressive jokester put up a tweet making fun of a cop being dragged by a man trying to flee a traffic stop in Georgia. MSNBC tried to take it down later, but The Gateway Pundit got a screenshot of it first.
After the criticism started, MSNBC deleted the tweet and issued the following “apology.”
A video tweeted from @msnbc Friday evening has been removed. The material was inappropriate. It should not have been posted and we’re sorry.

That’s not exactly mea maxima culpa. In fact, it’s got such a surly quality to it, it might as well have ended with “OK, are you happy now?”
This is why no one sane trusts MSNBC. As one Twitter user put it, viewers think, “you want cops dead.”
Needless to say, MSNBC’s critics weren’t happy. And the fury didn’t debate over the weekend. In a year where cops are being falsely accused en masse of being violent racists, a Twitter posting by a national news organization — even one as loopy and discreditable as MSNBC — that makes fun of a potentially deadly situation for a police officer deserves every criticism it gets. (The officer, thankfully, was fine.)
@msnbc @msnbc Not inappropriate. It was PERVERTED. Inappropriate is farting during dinner. You are MORALLY DEPRAVED PERVERTS.

@ProgsToday @msnbc The stupidity, It Burns, it burns! Wow, talk about inappropriate! If Fox had done that it would be the end of the world!

An MSNBC video was inappropriate? Why am I not hearing Obama complain about that? https://t.co/5vnzK9lzQK

Obama complain about MSNBC? That’s where his buddy Al Sharpton is holding court. It’s Fox the president has a problem with, remember?
@msnbc Inappropriate, yes. But your apology should have also included the words “vile and inflammatory”. pic.twitter.com/fmO3UNs09g

Actually, that’s part of the job description of an MSNBC host. Or what Rachel Maddow and Al Sharpton think when she looks in the mirror in the morning.
One thing’s for sure: This isn’t going to be forgotten next time the “hands up, don’t shoot” crowd go on parade.
This tweet sums it up pretty well.
@msnbc – Too freakin’ late MSNBC. You hatred of law enforcement is loud and clear. You want cops dead. We get it.
