Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. found one thing that marred Friday’s National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service at the U.S. Capitol — President Obama’s speech.
At the beginning of the ceremony, Clarke tweeted:

But those bright, sunny skies depicted in the photograph were soon to darken.
Obama told the crowd that law enforcement deserves our respect, and that “We can work harder as a nation to heal the rifts between law enforcement and the people you risk your lives to protect.”
In response to a Fox News tweet of the event, Clarke observed:

And in response to a Politico’s coverage of the ceremony, headlined, “Cops deserve our respect, President Obama says,” Clarke tweeted:
