Alan Grayson comes unglued, curses at questions about off-shore accounts; ‘sh*tting robots’?

Florida Congressman Alan Grayson‘s much ballyhooed run for the U.S. Senate might have crashed and burned Wednesday before it ever got off the ground.

Thanks in part to “sh*tting robots.”

In a bush league move that can be filed with other notorious “Florida Man” headlines, the bombastic Democrat went off on a profanity-laced tirade against a Tampa Bay Times reporter who dared to question him about setting up offshore hedge funds that may serve as tax havens.

alan-grayson-crazyAnd Grayson, who has made a career out of attacking Wall Street fat cats and even ripped 2012 Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney over offshore accounts, didn’t like it one bit.

He complained about Times political editor Adam C. Smith looking for “some stupid, bullsh*t story. … You want to write sh*t about it, and you can’t because not a single dollar of taxes has been avoided,” he fired at Smith.

The Times reported that Grayson’s financial disclosure statements show he has between $5-million and $25-million invested in one of the funds, and reports no income from it.

When Smith asked about potential foreign investors, Grayson went ballistic.

“Are you f*cking kidding?” he said. “I set up a fund that might solicit foreign investors… I have no present intention of soliciting foreign investors. Your perception issue is bullsh*t.”

After complaining about an unrelated story of his girlfriend potentially running for his current seat, should he run for the Senate, the Florida Democrat took profanity to a whole new level.

“This is a whole nother level of bullsh*t. …Are are you some kind of sh*tting robot? You go around sh*tting on on people?” he asked Smith.

But this rampage is not a one-off, according to Politico.

The online news source reported Wednesday that Grayson swore at Orlando Sentinel reporter Scott Powers last week, using the f-word. The reporter had contacted Grayson to inquire about his girlfriend possibly running.

“Powers wouldn’t comment on the conversation but confirmed he was unable to get anything printable from Grayson,” Politico reported.

And it doesn’t stop there.

Politico reported that Grayson allegedly referred to fellow Florida Democrat U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy, who has announced his own run for the Senate, as a “piece of sh*t” in a recent telephone conversation with Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairman Jon Tester, who told him the party is likely to endorse Murphy in the race.

Grayson denied the charge, which came from two unnamed sources.

While he has not declared his candidacy for the upper chamber, Grayson appears to be forging ahead in his quest to replace U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio, a Republican expected to relinquish the seat to pursue his run for the White House.

The likelihood of that run may have been bolstered by Wednesday’s interview, despite Grayson’s crass performance, considering Grayson told Smith he’s more inclined to run every time “some bullsh*t artist calls you up and tries to stick a knife in my gut.”

Someone should remind Grayson of Mark Twain’s famous words: “Never pick a fight with people who buy ink by the barrel.”
