Quick-thinking woman uses pizza order to escape knife-wielding boyfriend

A large pizza with a side order of police.

That’s what one woman cleverly ordered when she sent an online message to her local Pizza Hut in Avon Park, Fla.

Cheryl Treadway used the comments section of her online order form to let employees of the restaurant know she was being held hostage in her home by her knife wielding boyfriend, Ethan Nickerson.

The quick-thinking pizzeria employees contacted police, who arrived to Treadway’s home shortly thereafter.

Treadway met police at the door with a child in her arms and told police Nickerson was inside holding a knife.

Police escorted Treadway and the child to safety before Lt. Curtis Ludden started talking to Nickerson through a closed door.

“His first words were, of course, ‘I’m not coming out because I know I’m going to jail,’” Ludden told WFLA-TV.

Nickerson was arrested and now faces charges of aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery and false imprisonment.
