Ice cream made with human breast milk launches in London; would you try it?

How bad would your sweet tooth have to be to eat human breast milk ice cream?

It sounds like a gag, but British ice cream manufacturer The Licktators are teaming up with breastfeeding advocate Victoria Hiley to launch Royal Baby Gaga ice cream made with human breast milk.

This isn’t Hiley’s first attempt at the launch.

In 2011, The Icecreamists, a London-based store, was selling Baby Gaga ice cream before it was forced by officials to stop.

World renowned pop star Lady Gaga threatened to sue them over the name at the time, calling the ice cream “nausea-inducing,” according to The Telegraph.

The milk being used to make the ice cream is reportedly donated and screened in accordance with hospital standards, the Daily Mail reported.

The ice cream is being reintroduced this time to line up with the birth of the new royal baby.

Hiley said the timing is perfect.

There was huge support from breastfeeding women for Baby Gaga ice cream in 2011, yet some politicians still stigmatize women for breastfeeding in public.

We thought the birth of a Royal baby was a great time to whip up support for mums and say that when it comes to ice cream this summer, breast is best.

After all, what else would you give your young prince or princess?

Um…not that.

FEMAIL, a division of Daily Mail, reporter Martha Cliff did a taste test on the ice cream and gave the following assessment.

I try to not to think about the ingredients and try to take reassurance in the fact that a human nipple is easily cleaner than a cow’s udder.

The flavour itself is not unpleasant at all. In fact the texture is what I would consider to be a luxurious gelato.

It is extremely sweet, reminiscent of those blocks of vanilla ice cream that were served in school canteens. Having said that, if I had been given a bowl without knowing its origin I would have happily have eaten the lot, as it is I managed a few spoon fulls before it got a bit odd.
