For a tidy sum of $50,000, a select few can enjoy a day “machine gun fun” with the former Navy SEAL who liberal Americans love to hate.
The conservative group, ForAmerica, has launched the fundraising effort as an opportunity to spend the day with Robert O’Neill, credited with killing 9/11 mastermind Osama bin Laden. The day’s events will include a trip to a nearby shooting range, The Washington Post reported.
“Our event will consist of clay, pistol and ‘machine gun fun’ competitions with Rob O’Neill,” fundraiser promotional material said, according to The Post.
After he stepped forward to take responsibility for firing the shots that killed bin Laden, O’Neill was discredited by some Obama supporters, primarily because his admission distracted from the perception that the president killed the terrorist — a phrase heard often on the 2012 presidential campaign trail.
ForAmerica, founded by Media Research Center’s Brent Bozell, is run by America, Inc., of Reston, Va., the newspaper reported.
Billed as “a historic weekend honoring Navy SEAL hero Robert O’Neill,” the event will take place at the Amangani Resort Hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
The date of the fundraiser is not clear, but guests have until May 10 to RSVP.
O’Neill agreed to participate in the event “as a favor to a friend who has been helping him out,” the vet’s spokesman told The Post.
The invitation is seen here, with dates and times redacted by The Post.
