President Obama‘s foreign policy stance took a brutal blow Friday — by none other than sex-tape veteran Kim Kardashian.
On the 100th anniversary of the massacre of 1.5 million Armenians under the Ottoman Empire, Kardashian called out Obama for failing to call the tragedy what it was: genocide.
Instead, the president marked the anniversary on Thursday by calling the slaughter a “mass atrocity” and “terrible carnage.”
“I would like President Obama to use the word ‘genocide,’” Kardashian, whose family is Armenian, said in an op-ed for Time magazine published Friday. “It’s very disappointing he hasn’t used it as president. We thought it was going to happen this year. I feel like we’re close — but we’re definitely moving in the right direction.”
Kardashian may be among the last to notice Obama’s cowardice in using the right labels, including his refusal to use the term “radical Islam” or acknowledge that Christians are being killed across the Middle East because of their faith.
Kardashian, whose boldest example of social activism involved a recent initiative to “break the Internet” with a series of nude photos, called on the Turkish government to recognize the genocide.
“It is not the fault of the people who live there now; it was 100 years ago on Friday,” she wrote. “I believe in moving on and looking toward a brighter future, but you can’t move on unless you acknowledge the past.”
