James Rosen fires back at accusations of schoolboy crush on Marie Harf and becoming like MSNBC

Responding to a snide, off-the-cuff comment on Twitter — are there any other kind? — from Newsmax TV host Steve Malzberg, Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen showed he’s not one to take a punch lying down.

Malzberg targeted Rosen in a tweet Thursday for his sympathetic stance toward State Department deputy spokeswoman Marie Harf, who’s frequently vilified on social media — a circumstance of her own making, more often than not.

In a recent appearance on Fox News’ “The Kelly File,” Rosen defended Harf’s “jobs for jihadis” comment and characterized a lot of the criticism directed toward her as “sexist” and “juvenile.”

Malzberg derided this position in a tweet:

Ever the epitome of class and style, Rosen fired back within minutes, making it clear he’s not about to join his tormentor in the gutter:

Malzberg fired another volley, although it’s hard to gauge how much malice is in his heart. After Rosen responded by trivializing his “analysis,” the Newsmax TV host wisely backed off, saying he had the “greatest respect” for Rosen.

Their exchange, as seen on Twitter:

Rosen was not quite ready to retire, however, as he responded to a social media user who weighed in on the thread with her view that Fox News has moved “left of center.”

It’s good to see that he maintained his sense of humor in the dust up.
