Ten Republicans, caving in on their supposed principals, voted to confirm pro-abortion nominee Loretta Lynch as the nation’s next attorney general.
The 56-43 vote came Thursday after a 161 day delay, making Lynch the 83rd attorney general and the first African-American woman to hold the position.
The Republicans who voted in favor:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell – R-Ky and Sens. Kelly Ayotte – N.H., Thad Cochran – Miss., Susan Collins – Maine, Jeff Flake – Ariz., Lindsey Graham – S.C., Orrin Hatch – Utah, Ron Johnson – Wis., Mark Kirk – Ill. and Rob Portman – Ohio.
The votes came despite Lynch’s admission during the Judiciary Committee hearings that she had signed a legal brief from Planned Parenthood to overturn the ban on partial birth abortion, which ultimately failed.
Outrage! Judge hammers white victims of armed home invasion for racism, lets criminal go free.
She argued in the brief that the ban was “unconstitutionally vague and threatens the integrity of the criminal justice system.”
She favors the murder of partially born children and yet 10 Republicans were fine with supporting her.
Way to stick to your standards.
