Officials at a California school are apologizing for their choice of food at a monthly party.
Their sin? Serving Mexican food at a science fiction-themed event they called “Intergalactic Night.”
Don’t see the problem? Think “aliens” — illegal aliens.
“Fox & Friends” co-host Brian Kilmeade told Megyn Kelly on Thursday that some of the school’s Hispanic students were offended because of the food choice.
After they aired their complaints, Stevenson College’s student affairs program director, Carolyn Golz, issued a groveling apology:
“As a result of this incident, I will require cultural competence training for Programs staff, in addition to implementing mechanisms for future program planning that will ensure college programs are culturally sensitive and inclusive.”
Here’s another suggestion: Instead of mandatory sensitivity training for the school’s staff, Stevenson students could use some mandatory DE-sensitivity training. If something like this offends them, they’ll be ill-equipped to go out and work in the real world.
