A California-based pro-life group released an explosive undercover video Thursday that its president says depicts Planned Parenthood “covering up sex abuse” and “aiding and abetting the sex trafficking of underage girls.”
Lila Rose, founder and president of “Live Action,” sent undercover reporters posing as pimps and underage prostitutes into various Planned Parenthood offices equipped with hidden cameras, CBS News reported.
According to LiveAction:
Statistics from the Department of Justice indicate that over 100,000 children in the U.S. fall victim to sex-trafficking each year, and 300,000 to 400,000 American children are involved in some form of sex-trafficking annually.
The average age of entry into child prostitution is 13, and by the time they become adults, some girls have been subject to multiple abortions. An encounter with any worker providing confidential health care services should be an opportunity for trafficking victims to get help to escape from slavery, but in abortion clinics, “confidentiality” becomes the secrecy needed for abuse to continue. Live Action went undercover to see if Planned Parenthood would cover-up the sexual abuse of minors or comply with mandatory reporting laws.
Investigations found seven Planned Parenthood clinics in four different states were willing to aid and abet the sex-trafficking of minor girls by supplying confidential birth control, STD testing, and secret abortions to underage girls and their traffickers.
Not all of the Planned Parenthood offices that the Live Action crew visited agreed to aid the activities of the purported prostitution ring.
Talking Points Memo reported in January:
In the course of five days this month, eight Planned Parenthood clinics in five states and D.C. reported getting the same visit: A man said he needed treatment for a sexually transmitted disease and then, once alone with a staff member, implied that he ran an interstate sex trafficking ring that involves minors and illegal immigrants.
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America thinks that the visits, which happened between Jan. 11 and 15, are part of a James O’Keefe-style “sting.” But the group called in the FBI anyway.
But at least one employee — in the Perth Amboy, N.J. Planned Parenthood office — was fired after the video’s release,
“We have a zero tolerance policy for this kind of behavior, and the employee in the video was immediately suspended from her duties [Tuesday] morning and was terminated [Tuesday] evening,” Phyllis Kinsler, CEO of Planned Parenthood New Jersey, said, according to NJ.com.
CBS News noted that Fox News host Bill O’Reilly plans to report on the video on his program Thursday, “a sign that it may become a major issue in the conservative media.”
That’s funny. I would have thought that a federally funded organization that has no problem with aiding and abetting the trafficking of underage prostitutes would concern everyone, no matter what their political stripes.
