CNN anchor Jake Tapper had some questions for the Florida Democratic Party and Vice President Joe Biden Sunday night.
Upon closer examination, though, he should have directed them to President Barack Obama.
Following former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s formal announcement that she was seeking the presidency, the Florida Democratic Party tweeted:

The Florida Democratic presidential primary is a year away, and the party is already making an endorsement? Tapper seemed to think so, and tweeted:

It sure looks that way to me — others thought so too:

Not getting a response from the state party bigwigs, the host of CNN’s “The Lead With Jake Tapper” took it up with the vice president — the person an outgoing president traditionally endorses to pick up the mantle.

But maybe the Florida Democrats are taking their cue from the White House.
While in Panama City, Panama, for the Summit of the Americas, CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta asked the president about a Hillary Clinton presidency.
“I think she would be an excellent president,” Obama replied, according to Fox News.
He went on to describe Clinton as a “formidable candidate” and “my friend” who will have “strong messages” for the American people should she decide to run.
Then Obama was asked about Biden. Mike Memoli, reporter for the Los Angeles Times’ D.C. Bureau tweeted:

Time Magazine political reporter Zeke Miller tweeted:

Bloomberg Politics correspondent Jennifer Epstein also wondered about this — and received an interesting reply:
@jeneps He knows Biden is just his spare for insurance purposes. Saving him from Impeachment.

The late, former U.S. House Speaker Tip O’Neill, also a Democrat, is credited for having coined the phrase, “All politics is local.”
Were O’Neill alive today, he’d be appalled to learn that in the Obama White House, it all starts at the top.
