Judge Jeanine turns Marathon bomber’s mother’s pleas back on her

In her second opening statement Saturday, Judge Jeanine Pirro took on “Jihadi Mom,” the mother of convicted Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev.

Zubeidat Tsarnaeva, who returned to her native Russia just prior to the bombing, blasted the federal trial jury that found Dzhokhar Tsarnaev guilty on all 30 counts, claiming her son is innocent and “the terrorists are the Americans and everyone knows it,” according to USA Today.

Next the jury enters the sentencing phase of the trial — will Tsarnaev get life or be sentenced to death?

Addressing “Jihad Mom” directly, Pirro noted that not much good had come of the Boston Marathon bombing, “but then again, nothing involving your thieving, terrorist, hate-filled, drug-fueled spawn is ever good.”

Pirro took Zubeidat Tsarnaeva’s argument apart that her son could never have participated in the bombing, and noted that “Jihad Mom” had once said, “If they kill him, I do not care.”

Pirro said if that’s the case, she wanted “him to live the rest of his life in solitary confinement.”

Pirro concluded that “because you want him to die and be a martyr, I want him to live.”
