Now that Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev has been found guilty on 30 counts against him, some on the left want the convicted terrorist to be spared the death penalty, prompting Fox News host Andrea Tantaros to wonder if President Obama might trade him away in a potential deal with Islamic State militants.
U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren, a progressive favorite, said Thursday she opposes the death penalty for Tsarnaev.
“You know, my heart goes out to the families here, but I don’t support the death penalty,” she said during an appearance on “CBS This Morning.”
“Could we be looking at a situation where he’s traded if he is not put to death?” Tantaros asked on Fox News’ “Outnumbered.” “ISIS and terrorist groups saying, ‘Free Tsarnaev.’ And then, we’re in a situation again where there’s pressure to trade him or free him.”

Tantaros said she hopes Tsarnaev “fries,” given the “gruesome” crimes he was convicted of.
“I know people are saying, ‘Well, if he doesn’t get the death penalty, he’ll be a martyr, he’ll be considered a martyr and then ISIS and other terrorist groups will use it as propaganda,’” she added. “I think that’s the last thing we need.”
She later suggested Tsarnaev may want to die, so he can “get the 72 virgins that he was promised.”
