Chris Matthews attempted to make excuses for Bill and Hillary Clinton after an accusation surfaced that Chelsea Clinton referred to the Secret Service as “pigs” during her time in the White House.
Former White House florist and author of “The Residence,” Kate Andersen Brower, appeared on MSNBC’s “Hardball” Thursday to discuss her account of events.
“I think people who didn’t grow up in the ’60s wouldn’t know, now, I’m not defending it of course, but that word “pigs” has a particular meaning for people in the ‘60s,” Matthews said.
“They worked in the McGovern campaign,” he added. “They were against the police and the Chicago police riots and all that. So when they say, ‘pigs,’ that’s a very ’60s term.”
You aren’t defending them?
Because that sure sounds like a defense — and a weak one at that.
