Iran continues to toy with the United States over prolonged nuclear negotiations the Obama administration claimed were being finalized just one week ago.
Iranian leaders backtracked Wednesday over supposed agreements outlined in the framework of last week’s deal between the two countries that critics argue will eventually give Iran access to a nuclear bomb.
Even with what appears to be a good deal for Iran – and was celebrated wildly in the streets of Tehran – the country’s “death to America” leaders can’t resist the opportunity to rub the Great Satan’s nose in it.
Iranian officials described the framework as a “lie” and disagreed with a White House fact sheet released just after the negotiations were announced.
Supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei had his say on Twitter:
I trust our negotiators but I’m really worried as the other side is into lying & breaching promises; an example was White House fact sheet.

Hours after the #talks, Americans offered a fact sheet that most of it was contrary to what was agreed. They always deceive &breach promises. — Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2015
According to Adam Kredo of the Washington Free Beacon, Iranian Defense Minister Hossein Dehqan also called the concessions a “lie” and added that Iran has not, and will not agree “to permit international inspectors to enter any of its military facilities under the framework.”
“The Americans have mentioned a version of the negotiations from their own point of view,” Iranian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marziyeh Afkham said in an interview, according to the Beacon.
“They are known to the world for having such methods, and yet they have even made the Europeans object,” she said.
“There is no agreement yet,” Afkham said. “There can be no agreement until all the issues are finalized.”
That doesn’t sound like Obama’s “historic” deal is a deal at all.
On outcome of recent talks, I’m neither for nor against it;according to officials, yet no measure has been taken& there’s no binding results.

It’s all about the details. The disloyal side may want to stab #Iran in the back over the details; It is too early to congratulate. #IranTalks — Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2015
What’s been done so far secures neither the main deal nor its contents nor is it even clear whether #talks will bear fruit & lead to a deal.

I support the negotiators& agree w a deal which ensures nation’s interests but no deal is favorable to a deal agnst #Iran interests&dignity. — Khamenei.ir (@khamenei_ir) April 9, 2015
