President Obama has a case of the sads.
But it’s not because his goal of fundamentally transforming the United States is falling short, or he’s suddenly worried that the adoring media is going to start holding him accountable.
It’s because his children are getting older.
“I start tearing up in the middle of the day, and I can’t explain it,” Obama said. “Why am I so sad?
“They’re leaving me.”
Obama was speaking at a White House prayer breakfast on Tuesday when he said he needed prayer because his daughters will soon be going off to college, according to The Hill.

Like millions of fathers, the president is sad about the idea of his daughters leaving home — regardless of your views of his failed policies, it’s difficult to deny that Obama has been a good father to his children.
Malia, 16, is a junior in high school and has toured a number of top universities, The Hill reported. The visits include Stanford, the University of California, Berkley, New York University, Columbia University and Barnard College.

Being one of the most polarizing presidents in U.S. history, it’s of little surprise that social media users had no sympathy for Obama’s plight.
Here is a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@thehill Because he’s a failure and nobody loves him anymore except CNN and the like.

@thehill He knows he can’t destroy The United States Of America in the time he has left and it’s killing him.

@thehill Because the amount of time you have to continue your tyranny is limited? Or perhaps you couldn’t support Iran more than you did?

@markknoller Because you’re focused on yourself, your feelings not your daughter’s. It’s all about BHO, always is.

@markknoller Guess he should have spent more time with her when he had the chance instead of golfing, separate vacations & fundraising trips
— Sick and tired (@dblozik) April 7, 2015
@markknoller I start tearing up every day I wake up and Obama is still president. Scurge of the earth…
