Meet the HS senior accepted into ALL 8 Ivy League schools

A New York high school senior and Nigerian immigrant is well on his way to making his mark in his adopted country— starting with getting accepted into every Ivy League school.

In fact Harold Ekeh, 17, was accepted to all 13 schools he applied to, including Johns Hopkins, NYU, MIT, SUNY Stony Brook and Vanderbilt.

Ekeh told CNN Money that he hasn’t yet decided which school to attended but he does have one in mind that he is favoring.

“I am leaning toward Yale,” he said. “I competed at Yale for Model UN, and I like the passion people at Yale had.”

But the youngster isn’t only concerned about his academics. He founded a program at his Long Island school, Elmont Memorial High School, to mentor prospective college students.

Ever humble Ekeh gives most of the credit for his success to his parents and America.

“We had a fairly comfortable life in Nigeria, but they told me we moved to America for the opportunities like the educational opportunities,” he told CNN Money.

“I am very humbled by this,” he added. ”It’s not just for me, but for my school and community. We can accomplish great things here.”

Ekeh’s goal is to become a neurosurgeon.

“When other kids would say, ‘I want to be a superhero or police officer,’ I would say, ‘I want to know what is on the inside of us,’” he said.

In addition to a 100.5 percent GPA, Ekeh plays the drums, directs a youth choir at his church, is a part of Model UN and the Key Club, was elected to the Homecoming court and speaks 3 languages.

No matter what he ultimately decides one thing that is for certain: He exemplifies the meaning of the American dream.
