An Indiana gun store was robbed last year and its owner is attempting to get his inventory back. No, not from the original thieves, but from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agents who had recovered his stolen merchandise.
And when asking nicely doesn’t work, you turn to the courts.

Profire Arms and Supplies owner Andrew Hall filed his handwritten complaint in a federal district court, alleging that not only will the ATF not return his stolen inventory, but that it isn’t pressing charges against all the culprits who did.
Profire, as the name suggests, isn’t your run -of-the-mill gun store. It actually manufactures machine guns, sound suppressors and ammunition, according to Guns.com.
Hall alleges in his complaint that on Sept. 20, someone took off with a trailer sitting on his parking lot that had in it 12 machine guns, 17 suppressors, eight handguns and 20,000 rounds of ammunition.
He immediately alerted authorities and within hours, local and federal agents found the trailer but no merchandise on the other side of town. A few days later, they apprehended the individuals they believed were guilty of the theft, and retrieved guns and ammo.
Only one individual was charged — Clifford Helm, 42, for felony possession of a firearm.
That was over six months ago, and Hall still doesn’t have his inventory.
He’s alleging both Second Amendment and Fourth Amendment violations in his complaint. Guns.com reported:
“The Second Amendment allows us to keep and bear arms,” he says in his complaint. “I do not have possession of my property and it is not being returned. This infringes upon my right to keep and bear arms.”
“My firearms have been unreasonably seized by the government and are not being returned,” the complaint continues, citing Fourth Amendment protections against unreasonable searches and seizures.
Hall requests the court order the ATF to return his property, loss of profits generated by property seized and legal fees.
Hall has also established a GoFundMe account in an attempt to obtain sufficient funds to secure the services of a lawyer.
