At least 147 people were reported killed by al-Qaida-linked gunmen early Thursday — Holy Thursday to Christians — in an attack on a Kenyan university situated near the Somalian border.
Al Shabaab terrorists swarmed Garissa University in a pre-dawn raid that became a bloodbath, using a procedure that’s becoming all too familiar in Africa and the Middle East — they release the Muslims and target the Christians.
Here’s an early Reuters report of the incident — one posted before the final body count.
The BBC began tweeting a series of accounts at 3:57am when it reported two dead.

Each successive tweet brought the body count higher, until it finally tweeted these stark statistics:

By late afternoon, however, the victim count had more than doubled, with Fox News reporting 147 dead at the killer’s hands.
The terrorists left little doubt as to who their targets were after Kenyan security forces cornered the gunman in a dormitory along with their hostages, according to Fox News.
Three days before Christianity’s holiest holiday, they were killing Christians because of their faith.
“There are many dead bodies of Christians inside the building,” Al-Shabaab spokesman Sheikh Abdiasis Abu Musab told Sky News, according to Fox. “We are also holding many Christians alive. Fighting still goes on inside the college.”
Student union vice chairman Collins Wetangula said he could hear the gunmen opening doors in his dormitory and asking the occupants whether they were Muslim or Christian. The sound of gunfire came when his fellow students gave the wrong answer.
“If you were a Christian you were shot on the spot,” he said. “With each blast of the gun I thought I was going to die.”
So why did the gunmen target that particular university? Garissa is known to have a high percentage of Christians in its student body, Fox confirmed.
“it’s on Muslim land colonized by non-Muslims,” an al-Shabaab spokesman told the BBC.
It’s the beginning of a second Holocaust — this one global; this one targeting Christians.
