Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid has no apologies – and no regrets – for using the floor of the United States Senate to slander Mitt Romney as a tax evader during the 2012 election.
In an interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, the loathsome Nevada senator justified his unjustifiable attacks on Romney, as well as his seemingly endless bashing of the billionaire brothers Charles and David Koch, in the crudest possible terms.
When Bash reminded Reid some Republicans had branded his unique form of malice as “McCarthyite,” Reid gave his political opponents – and the American political system – a stiff, verbal finger.
“Well, they can call it whatever they want,” he said. “Romney didn’t win, did he?”
Reid committed his Romney slander on the Senate floor, which means he was protected from any lawsuits over his speech, but even the liberal media howled. The fact-checker Politifact branded it a “pants on fire” lie — “an extreme claims with nothing to back it up.”
That, in a nutshell, is the Obama Era – and the Democrat Party Obama and Reid created: Lying, mean and utterly shameless.
A disgrace.
