Landmark city used in filming ‘Star Wars’ movie under attack by ISIS

The real dark side is ruining a “Star Wars” landmark and tourist attraction.

According to CNN, the Islamic State has commandeered the town of Tataouine, which was once used in the filming of the movie “Star Wars,” as a way-station for jihadists crossing into Libya from Tunisia.

The area has been maintained by the Tunisian government because of the throngs of Star Wars fans who visit the area, but that may no longer be possible.

This month alone, three jihadis were captured in the area as they attempted to cross into Libya and two arms caches were found, one that included a more than 20,000 rounds of ammo and grenade launchers.

Sadly it will take more than Luke Skywalker to save the region this time.
