Fox News hosts Clayton Morris and Peter Doocy joined “Mr. Foodtastic,” Chef J. Jackson, at the grill Sunday — not so much for the down-home chicken and ribs as for the skinny on yet another intrusion the Environmental Protection Agency is considering — on the backyard barbecue.

The EPA claims to be concerned about the danger to humans caused by breathing smoke from barbecue grills.

Eric Dennis, senior fellow at the Center for Industrial Progress, explained to the guys that although it’s dung and wood-fired grills — common in Third World countries — that may pose a problem, the EPA is considering regulating your modern grill.

In its statement, the EPA said:

We expect to limit the overall pollution PM [particulate matter] emissions from barbecuing and to alleviate some of the acute health hazards that a barbecue pit master can experience from inhaling.

“We should leave it to Chef Jackson to decide what he finds safe at his own grill,” Dennis said. “Not the EPA.”

Morris agreed.

“If my grill’s smoking up a little bit, I step off to the side,” he said.
