‘FCC totally out of control’: Krauthammer, Judge Nap. have dire outlook on new Internet regs

The Internet is known to many as the last free place on earth but soon it will be stifled by government regulations – and the FCC is already breaking the rules to make it happen.

Net neutrality rules are “profoundly against the free market,” Judge Napolitano told Bret Baier on “Special Report.”

More than 300 pages of new Internet regulations were released on Thursday and critics fear it will muck up a private sector that has supplied some of the most innovative technological advances in modern history.

The rules were voted on and released by the FCC before Congress and the public could comment, which goes against statute, according to Napolitano.

Without getting into the nitty-gritty of the massive new regulation rule book, Baier asked Napolitano about what this means in the “broad sense.”

“I see an FCC totally out of control, and I see an FCC proclaiming unto itself the authority that the statue never gave to it and that two federal courts say you don’t have, which is the ability to regulate the internet,” Napolitano said.

The Internet, according past court rulings, was supposed to remain relatively unhindered by government regulations. All that has changed under the Obama Administration.

Charles Krauthammer also weighed in saying the FCC will have “arbitrary power” over the Internet.

This will result in endless litigation, complaints and proceedings diverting hundreds of millions of dollars from innovation and engineering into the legal system, according to Krauthammer.

What this really is, “is the full employment act of telecom lawyers and lobbyists,” he said.

Krauthammer said of the Obama administration, “If it moves regulate it.”
