The House committee investigating the 2012 terror attack in Benghazi, Libya, issued subpoeanas Wednesday demanding emails related to the attack from the private server owned by former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
“I want the documents,” House Select Committee on Benghazi Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., told reporters, according to The Associated Press. “Sooner rather than later.”
House Speaker John Boehner said Clinton’s use of a private email account with a privately owned server — in possible violation of the Federal Records Act — would not stop House investigators from obtaining the emails.
“It doesn’t matter if the server was in Foggy Bottom, Chappaqua, or Bora Bora,” he said, according to The AP. “The Benghazi Select Committee needs to see all of these emails, because the American people deserve all of the facts.”
Meanwhile, Clinton took to Twitter late Wednesday to say that she has asked the State Department to release her emails publicly.
I want the public to see my email. I asked State to release them. They said they will review them for release as soon as possible.

“As soon as possible” is the key.
State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf released a statement early Thursday essentially telling America in advance not to expect much any time soon.
“The State Department will review for public release the emails provided by Secretary Clinton to the Department, using a normal process that guides such releases. We will undertake this review as quickly as possible; given the sheer volume of the document set, this review will take some time to complete.”
The Twitterverse was quick to pounce on Clinton’s announcement.
@HillaryClinton WAY TO LATE!! You broke the law!

How about releasing your entire private servers as well ASAP @HillaryClinton

@HillaryClinton except for the ones that were permanently deleted, right? 🙂

. @HillaryClinton using the appropriate government account would have made this possible and verifiable.

@HillaryClinton But Madam Secretary that still doesn’t address the lack of transparency & why you never set up a govt acct in the 1st place
— Fortitude1913 (@Fortitude1913) March 5, 2015
@HillaryClinton Did you delete yours already?
— John DeWitt (@Shanghaibeast) March 5, 2015
.@HillaryClinton You bought the server. Release them yourself.

.@HillaryClinton No reason to use homebrew e-mail except to circumvent transparency. And since not secure you jeopardized national security.

@HillaryClinton Funny how YOU can hide behind your twitter account & not doing a public interview explaining your misdeeds. #YouLie
— yeah right (@rapsays40) March 5, 2015
@HillaryClinton 1. No, you don’t. 2. State doesn’t have access to them. 3. All we’ll ever see is the “sanitized” emails you approve.

Comically, some of the pro-Hillary quotes highlight why some people should not be allowed near a voting booth as they literally beg this woman to be their Queen.
@HillaryClinton QUEEN MY PRESIDENT
