New Scott Walker ‘controversy’: Libs think his spokeswomen are too pretty to be smart

Here’s the latest liberal scandal cooking up about Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker:

His spokeswomen are too good looking.

That’s a gripe raised by a writer named “Kate Mallet” in the “Tell All” column of an alternative newspaper in Madison, Isthmus:

“Dear Tell All: I can’t help noticing that Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker picks beautiful young women to be the spokespeople for his administration and his campaigns …

“It reminds me of Fox News, which uses super-sexy women as on-air talent rather than a normal range of women who just happen to be good journalists. As with Fox, it’s hard to believe that the most talented females available to fill Walker’s frontline jobs also look like models …

“What does it say to the young girls of Wisconsin who hope to do important work when they grow up, regardless of their looks?”

Considering that libs are throwing everything they can think of at Walker – like being a fan of rape on campus – the accusation that he hires women who are not only good at their jobs but easy on the eyes, too, is pretty tame stuff.

But what makes the letter really interesting is what it says about the liberal mind. As the “Tell All” columnist points out in response, the Walker women the letter-writer names — Alleigh Marre, Ciara Matthews, Laurel Patrick and Jocelyn Webster — have been “quite effective at their jobs.”

Patrick is Walker’s press secretary. Matthews is his director of communications. Marre is now communications director for Maine’s Republican Sen. Susan Collins. Matthews is now a political for Watchdog.org who also writes for National Review, according to the Daily Caller.

The implication is that women who are physically attractive in the conventional sense are somehow lacking in the brains department is the kind of double standard Democrats would normally charge at.

But since Walker’s a Republican, and a Republican with a record of success taking down unions and winning votes, any reason to snipe will do (just like any reason to take a jab at Fox News will do.)

But what does it say to the young girls of Wisconsin when progressives assume that no matter how hard-working, intelligent or motivated a woman is, she really only gets her job because of her looks?
