Scalping Bibi tickets? GOP reps begging boycotting Dems for tickets to Netanyahu’s speech

Demand for tickets to see Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to Congress Tuesday is so high Republican reps are begging boycotting Dems for extras.

But there aren’t any to be had, according to a Washington Times report.

According to the Times, each member of Congress gets a ticket to give away to the public viewing gallery. One is not nearly enough in this case, though.

On “Face the Nation” Sunday, House Speaker John Boehner said the demand for Netanyahu tickets was out of this world.

“The demand for seats in the House, the demand for tickets, I’ve never seen anything like it. Everybody wants to be there,” he said.

According to the Times, speeches by foreign leaders are sometimes so poorly attended Capitol pages or Hill staffers are drafted to fill the seats to make it look like the speaker has a full House.

Not so with Netanyahu.

“Those are hot commodities. If you come across an extra one, let me know,” Florida Republican Republican Rep. Ted Yoho told the Times.

“I could scalp that ticket, there are so many people who want it,” Rep. Tim Wallberg, a Michigan Republican said.

But the Dems aren’t donating, according to the Times. The professional pols might be willing to skip the Netanyahu speech as part of a phony, political show, but their constituents aren’t.
