Snow job! Inhofe’s snowball toss on Senate floor jabs at Obama’s global warming ‘threat’

A creative lawmaker used an organic, biodegradable prop to illustrate a point about global warming on the Senate floor Thursday.

Senator Jim Inhofe R-Okla., demonstrated the problem with the hysteria hyped by climate change alarmists by tossing a snowball he had gathered from just outside the unseasonably cold D.C. doors.

“In case we have forgotten, because we keep hearing that 2014 has been the warmest year on record, I ask the chair, do you know what this is?” Inhofe asked.

“It’s a snowball. And it’s just from outside here. So it’s very, very cold out. Very unseasonable,” Inhofe said.

He then gave Sen. Bill Cassidy R-La., who was presiding over the debate, a warning before throwing the snowball at him, The Hill reported.

Inhofe was specifically referring to an earlier report by the National Oceanic and Atmosphere Administration and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration that 2014 was the warmest year on record.

As much of the country finds itself locked in the grip of a prolonged deep freeze, “climate experts” are “flipping the script,” Inhofe said.

Inhofe is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Environmental and Public works.

He has been an outspoken critic about how much climate change is influenced by man – if at all – and how the hype behind that ideology is used to scare Americans into accepting laws and regulations that ultimately hurt jobs more than help the environment.

Inhofe also took the opportunity to criticize President Obama for saying that climate change poses a greater threat for Americans than does terrorism.

“It’s just another illustration that the president and his administration are detached from the realities that we are facing today and into the future,” Inhofe said.

“His repeated failure to understand the real threat to our nation security and his inability to establish a coherent national security strategy has put this nation at a level of risk that has been unknown for decades.”
