Left hell-bent on taking down Bill O’Reilly; new attack on his Kennedy assassination story

Having sufficiently debunked the theory pushed by critics on the left that he embellished his reporting of the Falkland Islands war, Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is taking fire again — this time over a passage in his bestselling book “Killing Kennedy.”

For the second time — the article was originally posted in January 2013 — former Washington Post editor Jefferson Morley posted an article on Tuesday taking credit for exposing a “fanciful anecdote” O’Reilly included in his book on the assassination of John F. Kennedy that Morley claims is a lie.

O’Reilly wrote about being a young reporter who traced a man connected to the assassination, George de Mohrenschildt, to Florida. In the book, O’Reilly seems to imply that he was knocking on the door of de Mohrenschildt’s daughter’s home when he “heard the shotgun blast that marked the suicide of the Russian.”

But Morley claims that O’Reilly was in Texas when de Mohrenschildt killed himself.

On his website — JFKFacts.org — Morley presents audio tapes of O’Reilly telling investigator Gaeton Fonzi that he is “coming to Florida” to try to confirm the suicide.

Determined to get their pound of flesh in exchange for the fall of NBC’s top-ranked anchor Brian Williams, the far-left outfit Media Matters pounced on the opportunity to once again target Fox News’ kingpin.

In addition to pushing the story on Tuesday, they released a video of O’Reilly talking about the incident:

O’Reilly has yet to respond to the latest claim, but he’s sure to welcome the assault based on ratings released this week.

According to Nielsen, he dominated the ratings Monday when he addressed the claims about his time spent covering the Falklands War — both in total viewership and the key 25-54 demographic.

His numbers doubled CNN  and tripled MSNBC. But then, what’s new there?
