President Obama is fond of saying he’s on the “right side of history,” but America’s former United Nations Ambassador John Bolton on Saturday put him in the pantheon of history’s losers for White House-orchestrated attacks on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Obama’s blind pursuit of a deal with an Iran bent on acquiring nuclear weapons, and his barely disguised animosity toward the U.S. ally most threatened by the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran, “puts Obama in a category worse than Neville Chamberlain,” Bolton told Sirius XM Patriot Radio.
Chamberlain was the British prime minister who went to Munich to sign a deal with Adolph Hitler on behalf of the allies to bring what he called “peace in our time.”
The former ambassador said he supported Netanyahu’s visit because “Israel faces a legitimately-labeled existential threat,” adding that Obama’s response makes him sound like a “petulant high school student.”
Bolton said his new group, The Foundation for American Security and Freedom, was designed to get America elect a leader who would prioritize national security over another Obama clone.
The nonprofit “is intended to educate the public on the significance of the national security threats that we face around the world,” he said .
The goal is to make national security one of the top issues in the upcoming 2016 presidential election.
“Getting people ready for the 2016 debate is a critical function,” Bolton said.
And he had a warning for future generations about Obama’s leadership.
“Obama doesn’t wake up in the morning with his very first thoughts thinking, ‘What threats does America face in the world today?’” he said. “He doesn’t believe that American strength in the world is beneficial to protecting our way of life here at home. He really is an isolationist.”
