In another shining example of how far the left can push its agenda on college campuses, a Wisconsin professor is urging her students to protest the state’s governor.
Beth Lueck, an English professor at the University of Wisconsin who is also running as a Democrat for assemblywoman in the 23rd District, offered her students extra credit for attending protests against Gov. Scott Walker’s proposed university funding cuts, the College Fix reported.
In a message posted Tuesday on the school’s internal website, the professor laughably referred to the rally as “non-partisan.”
“UW students have organized a non-partisan rally with students, faculty and community members on the UW-Whitewater campus against Governor Walker’s proposed $300 million cut to the UW System, along with speaking out against attacks on shared governance and faculty. You may get extra credit by joining the rally or by observing it or by protesting it,” she told students in the post, according to the Fix.
Lueck lost a run for state assembly after promoting what her Facebook page called “a progressive agenda in education, access to health care, and the economy.”
The extra credit was “not an assignment,” Lueck told watchdog.org, and students who wanted the extra credit were required to write an essay about the event they attended.
Students’ views would not affect how much extra credit they got, the professor insisted.
