Why does President Obama continue to legitimize ISIS?
First, Obama mentioned the Crusades during the National Prayer Breakfast; 10 days later, the Islamic State released a video showing 21 Coptic Christian “Crusaders” being beheaded on a Libyan beach.
Now, Obama said the savages killers have “legitimate grievances,” in an op-ed published Wednesday in the Los Angeles Times.
“More broadly, groups like al Qaeda and ISIL exploit the anger that festers when people feel that injustice and corruption leave them with no chance of improving their lives,” he wrote. “The world has to offer today’s youth something better.”
Are we back to the “all they need is jobs” talking point from yesterday? Is he really this clueless?
“Efforts to counter violent extremism will only succeed if citizens can address legitimate grievances through the democratic process and express themselves through strong civil societies,” he added. “Those efforts must be matched by economic, educational and entrepreneurial development so people have hope for a life of dignity.”
My God, he’s serious.
Twitter quickly excoriated the clueless president.

@sqwerin @redsteeze Apparently jihadis have had ‘legitimate grievances’ for the last 1,400 years. When will their grievances be satisfied?

The savages that burn people alive have “legitimate grievances” but send the might of the IRS after those pesky Tea Partiers!

Can Obama really think that ISIS might have some legitimate grievances? Talk about being tone deaf. https://t.co/ZGMLZSdDgy

Leave it to Obama to turn religious fanaticism into a social justice problem. http://t.co/YVSDGiTmDx pic.twitter.com/F3P0Lp64WQ

Since when is it acceptable to cut people’s heads off or burn someone alive in response to one’s “legitimate grievances.”
— Hair (@SHannitysHair) February 18, 2015
Grievances voiced by ISIS: ppl drawing Mohammed, being Christian or Jewish, not being a devout-enough Muslim. Which of these is legitimate?
— Amber (@AmberBinGA) February 18, 2015
@markknoller By all means, let’s address “legitimate grievances” of sub-humans who shoot 13 y/o kids for watching soccer, rape 6 y/o girls.
