Why does President Obama continue to legitimize ISIS?
First, Obama mentioned the Crusades during the National Prayer Breakfast; 10 days later, the Islamic State released a video showing 21 Coptic Christian “Crusaders” being beheaded on a Libyan beach.
Now, Obama said the savages killers have “legitimate grievances,” in an op-ed published Wednesday in the Los Angeles Times.
“More broadly, groups like al Qaeda and ISIL exploit the anger that festers when people feel that injustice and corruption leave them with no chance of improving their lives,” he wrote. “The world has to offer today’s youth something better.”
Are we back to the “all they need is jobs” talking point from yesterday? Is he really this clueless?
“Efforts to counter violent extremism will only succeed if citizens can address legitimate grievances through the democratic process and express themselves through strong civil societies,” he added. “Those efforts must be matched by economic, educational and entrepreneurial development so people have hope for a life of dignity.”
My God, he’s serious.
