Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu minced no words responding to Saturday’s terror attack in Copenhagen, calling for European Jews to emigrate to Israel.
We say to Jews, to our brothers and sisters: Israel is your home. We are calling for the absorption of mass immigration from Europe
— בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) February 15, 2015
Just a few hours after terrorist Omar Abdel Hamid Ed-Hussein killed a Jewish security guard outside a Copenhagen synagogue, Netanyahu tweeted:
Extremist Islamic terrorism has struck Europe again. We send our condolences to the Danish people and to the Jewish community in Denmark — בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) February 15, 2015
Addressing his cabinet Sunday, he said “Jews have been murdered again on European soil only because they were Jews, and this wave of terrorist attacks – including murderous anti-Semitic attacks – is expected to continue.
“I would like to tell all European Jews and all Jews wherever they are: ‘Israel is the home of every Jew. To the Jews of Europe and to the Jews of the world I say that Israel is waiting for you with open arms.”
Netanyahu also informed his cabinet of a $45 million plan to encourage Jewish emigration from France, Belgium and Ukraine, as reported by the Jerusalem Post.
Ed-Hussein was killed after a shootout by police in Denmark.
