U.S. intelligence officials testified on Capitol Hill last week that tracking Americans returning from fighting alongside Islamic State insurgents has become difficult. Some military wives are saying, no kidding — they may already be here.
Amy Buschatz is one of at least a half-dozen wives of active-duty military personnel who have been targeted by threats on social media from people purporting to be Islamic State members or sympathizers.
But as she told “Fox & Friends Weekend” co-host Clayton Morris, she’s not about to cower.
“On Tuesday morning of this week, I received a friend request from somebody appearing to be affiliated with the ISIS group or ‘Cyber Caliphate,'” Buschatz told Morris. “I was alerted by a friend that I had been named in a series of text messages targeting a handful of military spouses.”
Here’s a screenshot of one of the tweets she’s received:

“Fear is a natural reaction,” she said. “But I’m not going to act afraid.”
Also quelling her fear was the huge dose of humor expressed by her husband when she informed him.
“My husband’s immediate reaction when I called him right after I saw this stuff come through was, ‘Well, don’t let any terrorists in the house today.'”
Authorities are investigating this and other threats directed toward military wives by Islamic State sympathizers, including Navy wife Lori Volkman, who spoke to Fox News host Neil Cavuto after receiving this message in her Facebook page:
While your president and your husband are killing our brothers in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, we are coming for you.
You think you’re safe, but the IS is already here.
We know everything about you, your husband and your children, and we’re much closer that you can even imagine.
Intelligence officials confessed to the House Committee on Homeland Security Wednesday that they couldn’t say how many Americans who have fought alongside foreign Islamic extremists may have returned to the United States.
If the threats received last week by military wives is any indication, they’re already here.
And if the women’s reaction is any indication, the terrorists aren’t terrorizing anybody.
