Chicago team stripped of Little League World Series title; Jessie Jackson doesn’t get what CHEATING means?

A feel good story of an underdog team conquering the world has become a tale all too familiar of cheating in sports.

Except, rather than talking about performance enhancing drugs, deflated footballs or spying on other teams signs at the professional level this scandal involves kids.

The all-black Jackie Robinson West baseball team that won the 2014 Little League World Series has been stripped of its title because the adults who ran it redrew boundaries to get some players on the team who would not have been eligible otherwise, the Chicago Sun Times reported.

This should just be a sad story of the adults who manage the team attempting to gain an unfair advantage and ruining the victory for a group of kids, right?

Heck, even the White House agreed the adults were to blame, but stressed the kids were innocent.

“The fact is, you know, some dirty dealing by some adults doesn’t take anything away from the accomplishments of those young men,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told the Sun Times.

Nope. The Rev. Jesse Jackson is crying “racism” because the team got caught cheating. As one Twitter commenter put it, “in Chicago the race card is always in play.”

“Is this about boundaries or race?” Jackson asked at a news conference Wednesday.

“This decision’s untimely and inappropriate at this time,” said Jackson, who plans a party for the team on Saturday. “It should not take six months after a team has played a championship game to determine eligibility to play the game in the first place.”

Hold on. It’s not Little League’s fault if that determination was fake in the first place. Just like it’s not the kids’ fault that adults in Chicago cheat.

That’s not  likely to be the message the kids get on Saturday, though, not from Jackson — or the Catholic priest Father Michael Pfleger. (Pfleger is best known to most American voters as the Obama hack who made fun of Hillary Clinton in one of the leaked videos from Trinity United Methodist Church during the 2008 primary. He’s also about as rational as Jackson.)

The Twitterverse was relentless in the snark.
